I read that the owners of Las Cuatro Milpas were selling their building and stopped by to try my favorites. I arrived at opening time and there was parking and just one person in line. Place looks much like the first time I visited
Lady fries tacos while another lady mans the cash register and takes your order.

I loved the crunchy texture and mild flavor of the taquito shell. Chicken was tender, lightly seasoned. Good taquito.
Chicken taco had a crunchy fried corn tortilla and tender juicy chicken which was lightly seasoned. Good taco.
Pork taco had a crunchy shell with with delicious fried flavor. Pork was tender, perfectly seasoned and delicious.

Flour tortillas were warm and soft. Loved how they were moist and had a light flavor. I suspect they were made with lard.

I take a look in the back and see workers making tortillas and bread.
Prices are still low as a taco was only $3.50. Amazing as some gourmet taco places are pricing their tacos close to $20.
Petra and Natividad Estudillo opened Las Cuatro Milpas in 1933.
I will miss this place when they close.

It’s sad they are selling/leaving. I’m sure loads of San Diegans will miss them!
Hurry and eat some more of their tortillas!
