The Local Donut

I love watching the sunrise and filling up on fresh donuts.  When I was a kid there was a local donut shop on the corner of our block.  Woke up to the scent of fresh donuts in the air.

It appears a bunch of locals felt the same way as there was a line at The Local Donut.

Apple fritter had lots of apple bits on top with a sweet glaze.  Nice crunchy areas.  Could add apple bits to the dough itself for even more apple flavor.  Tasty donut.

Vanilla cream cronut was a bit like a sugar raised with the light sprinkling of sugar on top.  Outer part had crunchy delicate layers like a croissant.  Vanilla cream was sweet and vanilla like.  My favorite treat here.

Vanilla cake donut had dense cake dough with the unique cake donut flavor.  Vanilla glaze on top added vanilla flavor.  Great tasting cake donut.

Plain cake donut had a little bit of crunch on the outer layer while the inside was soft.  Nice cake flavor.

The Local Donut is my fav Arizona donut shop.  Look forward to trying more donuts next time I’m in town.
