Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream – Encinitas

In days past I walked by this corner to stare at the sea.  Fine sand grains felt nice beneath my feet.  During the day there was beach volleyball to watch.  At days end lovely sunsets.  I liked how it’s not as crowded as Pacific Beach or La Jolla.  Now there is new reason to come here.  Handel’s.  So many flavors to choose from but I usually stick with my traditional favorites.

Where they make and store the ice cream.

Scooping my quart of ice cream.

Orange Dream, Vanilla, Black Cherry

Vanilla was thick, creamy, and super rich.  Reminds me of Hagan Daz vanilla.
Orange Dream featured very bold orange flavor mellowed by the rich vanilla flavor.
Black cherry had lots of cherries and delicious cherry flavor.
Mango sorbet
Mango sorbet icy cold and refreshing with delicious mango flavor.
Freshly made waffle cones.

Cool t-shirts

I always bring a cooler with ice to bring my precious purchases home.  I hate getting home with mushy ice cream.  Quarts for $8.50 are the more cost effective way to keep my freezer stocked.  Ice cream here is too delicious to limit myself to a single cone.  🙂  I’m gonna stop writing now so I can scoop myself some of that awesome black cherry ice cream.

I like to take photos of beautiful things like rain falling into puddles. Photos were mostly taken on a Fuji XE-2. Starting 9.9.2016 most photos are taken on a Fuji XT-2. Subsequent photos were taken with an Iphone 13 Pro and an Iphone 15 Pro Max.
