Tacos El Franc
Tacos El Franc’s Tijuana location was in the Michelin Guide in the 2024 and 2025.
They opened their first San Diego location June 11 2025. There were lines out the door for months. I visited at opening time on a weekday in September and it was not too busy.
I noticed Tacos El Franc has one spit for their adobada. Some of their drinks are pre-made so you don’t have to wait. I was impressed how quickly you get your food and drinks and get on your way. I tried 3 tacos.
Adobada taco came on a thin corn tortilla. It was soft and moist with a light flavor I loved. Adobada was tender, moist, and full of savory flavor with a hint of sweetness. Reminds me of Tacos El Gordo which I love.

Carne asada taco featured tender and moist carne asada. Loved the beefy, smoky flavor, and light char from the grill. One of my favorite carne asada tacos.
Saudero taco was tender and moist with a light beef flavor. Very good but I would have seasoned it a bit more.
Janranja was an orange agua fresca. Flavor was fresh oranges and not too sweet. I loved it.
The tacos had an excellent meat to tortilla ratio but they were small so 4 made for a good size lunch. Service was friendly and incredibly fast. Cost was $25 with tax and tip.
