When staying in Bass Lake we usually find a place to eat in Oakhurst. Maggie wanted to visit Pete’s Place. We arrived at 10:50 am hoping to get breakfast. Their menu stated breakfast is served till 11am. We were told they stopped breakfast at 1040am today.
I ordered the fish and chips with fried zucchini.
The fried fish was coated in a crunchy beer batter. Fish was tender and moist except for some overcooked parts. Flavor was mostly of beer batter with a mild cod flavor. Good dish. Better than the frozen fish sticks from the supermarket.
Fried zucchini was shaped like French fries. Batter was crunchy. I could barely taste the zucchini as there seemed to be more batter than zucchini. I prefer bigger pieces of zucchini and less batter. Ok dish.
Fanta Pineapple soda was sweet and full of pineapple flavor. Very good.
Server/Cashier was very nice and brought out our meals quickly.
