Pioneertown. The wind blows sand in the air like when a gunslinger rides into town. This is the place I dreamed of as a child with my cap shooter holstered and in search of bad men to battle. Sand crunches beneath my feet as I explore town. There are all the shops you expect to find in an old western town. The coffin maker would be especially busy…

The General Store sells postcards and the U.S. Post Office will postmark your mail Pioneertown so your loved ones will know you survived your journey to the past. At one end of town is the O.K. Corral. Scene of many a violent gun battle. At the other end of town is Pappy & Harriet’s my fav bbq in this part of the world.

I ventured into XeBA BOTaNICA following the lovely scents.

They hand craft their products with organic plant-based materials.

I bought some Desert Palm as the scent reminded me of the desert after rainfall. It healed up my dry hands right away..

The Film Museum has memorabilia from films shot in Pioneertown.

There is a Pioneertown Motel here in case you want to spend more time in the old west.

The town started as a live-in Old West motion-picture set, built in the 1940s. The set was designed to provide a place for the actors to live while using their homes in the movie. A number of Westerns and early television shows were filmed in Pioneertown, including The Cisco Kid and Edgar Buchanan‘s Judge Roy Bean.
