Odysea Aquarium

9500 East Via De Ventura Scottsdale, Arizona 85256

This is a great place to take your kids or grandkids! We bought our tickets online so it made checking in easier.

The Aquarium provides an amazing indoor journey amongst many aquatic habitats. During your visit you will learn about each sea creature and the many ways the aquarium contributes to conservation initiatives and education.

Plenty of outside parking with numerous handicapped spaces fairly close to the entrance. My only complaint is the lot has literally no shade. So the car was super hot (yes it was July and about 102 degrees outside) taking about 20 minutes to start cooling off with the a/c on high.

By far the stingray touch pool was my grand-girls favorite exhibit. We spent most of our time here on level 2. The penguin exhibit was a bit disappointing only because they stayed in the back portion making it hard to see them. Also the water table was a hit with our smallest grand- girl as she loved playing with all the parts.

Most of the interactive options are still closed (as of July 2022) such as the; sea trek helmet diving and the penguin & shark encounters, no biggie for us.

My favorite area was on level 1; the rotating aquarium theatre with the barrier reef tunnel. This was by far the largest viewing space. Opening up our visual wonderland to sharks, rays, sea turtles and sea lions. Quite stunning. So many fish to see here. The Ocean Art Gallery is equally stunning with pufferfish, butterfly fish and tangs. I could come here everyday and not get bored of watching the fish, so beautiful.

After we visited ‘America’s Best Restroom’ the girls kept wanting to see the other restrooms. Silly girls, nothing compares.

Overall a very fun day!

Certainly did not expect to see a Macaw here!

I use a combination of my iPhone and my Fujifilm X-E2 camera for all my photographs. Just depends on where I am as to which one I'll use to take my pictures with. I love to write original stories combined with my photographs. If you'd like to send me a message or comment, please do so at; maggie@hungryones.com We just celebrated our 14th Anniversary this October 2016!! So exciting!! 2015 A couple since 2003 and now on the precipice of this new journey, our fondest hope is this website serves a purpose. One of useful information presented in an elegant, beautiful photographic setting. Together we love to discover new restaurants, food trucks, diners, café’s, huts or where ever we find food being served. The love of artful, carefully crafted, passionately orchestrated food, beverages and let’s not forget desert, Is something we both enjoy immensely. Immersing ourselves in the history, culture and surrounding locations of our adventures hopefully leads to not only meeting new people, but making new friends, sharing ideas, listening to stories and learning something new everyday.
