Stars & Stripes Carwash Detail / 5716 Miramar Road San Diego, CA 92121

Normally we hand wash, vacuum and detail our car ourselves about once per month. More often if needed. Since our parking space is outside the car gets more dirt and grim on it. The morning dew just makes things worse.

So when it was time to clean the car again my daughter decided to treat me to a full service car wash! We picked the full service package: wheel wash, complete vacuum and wipe down, windows, rims, tire shine and air freshener (cherry scented).

The cashier attendant was very helpful and the drive through portion attendant was patient with my forgetfulness. When you drive up your left front tire has to line up with their pulley  system, then once you get close enough it pulls you slowly along through the wash, super fun! Anyway I did take my foot off the brake, I forgot to put the car in neutral, woops! It was entertaining watching the big fabric arms flopping all over my car, the huge spinner bottle brush looking things, colored foam and the industrial size blow dryers. My favorite part!

Afterwards you park your car in whatever available space they have. We came on a super busy day so they estimated the wait time to be two hours. Since we were in no hurry it was not a problem. The seating areas are both inside and out. You can see the cars getting pulled along in the wash if you wait inside. Plus they have two flat screen tv’s and super padded chairs.

Finally it was time to see the finished product. I noticed the immaculately vacuumed interior first, then the very shiny wheels (they really made them super clean) and the polished exterior (I noticed the pinstripe along the sides again, wow). After all the years of cleaning ourselves I’m impressed with the level of clean they achieve. I will certainly be back with my car for future service!

Pinstripe!
Wheels are free of grease and grime! Note; don’t think the rust can be removed. My car is a 2006 Civic.
Shiny and polished.

I use a combination of my iPhone and my Fujifilm X-E2 camera for all my photographs. Just depends on where I am as to which one I'll use to take my pictures with. I love to write original stories combined with my photographs. If you'd like to send me a message or comment, please do so at; maggie@hungryones.com We just celebrated our 14th Anniversary this October 2016!! So exciting!! 2015 A couple since 2003 and now on the precipice of this new journey, our fondest hope is this website serves a purpose. One of useful information presented in an elegant, beautiful photographic setting. Together we love to discover new restaurants, food trucks, diners, café’s, huts or where ever we find food being served. The love of artful, carefully crafted, passionately orchestrated food, beverages and let’s not forget desert, Is something we both enjoy immensely. Immersing ourselves in the history, culture and surrounding locations of our adventures hopefully leads to not only meeting new people, but making new friends, sharing ideas, listening to stories and learning something new everyday.
