I’ve been eating Henry’s fried chicken since the old days when he was at Crispy Fried Chicken on El Cajon Blvd.
He has always offered very good tasting food at low prices.
I have tried many of the menu options but he keeps coming up with new stuff.
Fried cod had a crunchy tempura batter outside while the inside was tender and juicy cod. Nice flavor.
Fried catfish had a crunchy cornmeal batter while the catfish was tender and juicy. Nice fried flavor.
2 piece dark meat fried chicken was a drumstick and thigh. Crunchy batter with tender juicy chicken underneath. Flavor was a bit like Church’s Chicken.
I enjoy eating here as the food is very good and the owner Henry is very friendly. As I was leaving Henry mentioned he was looking for someone to buy the business and he would train them on how to cook all the food. Seems he has been in the business for 15 years and is looking for something new. I will miss seeing him and his wife when I visit. If you are looking to open a fried food restaurant give Henry a call.
