Gila Bend Food Mart

I usually don’t eat at gas stations but it was New Year’s Day and the options were limited.

Gila Bend Food Mart was open and arriving at 11:30am the food in the warming trays seemed fresh.

Pork ribs were smoked with mesquite and available dry rubbed or with added sauce.  I ordered them without sauce.  5 ribs for $17 was a bit too large a lunch for me and I saved one for later.  Ribs were tender and I liked the smoky aroma and dry rub.  Not as good as my fav Arizona bbq joint Rudy’s Bbq but this was the best meal I’ve had from a gas station.

On road trips to Scottsdale we usually drive through Gila Bend or make a quick stop at a fast food joint.  I’m glad we stopped at Gila Bend Food Mart.  Maggie enjoyed the pizza.  Rest rooms were very clean.  Employees nice.

There is a colorful selection of pots and yard ornaments.

I picked up a pot with a cool cactus design.

Next time I think I’ll try their wings.
