Great Maple – UTC
When I first moved to the area there was a Chinese restaurant next to this spot. It was kinda dark in there as the only sunlight that made it inside was from the front door and the window next to it. It closed before they demolished that part of the mall to create Great Maple and the parking structure surrounding Great Maple.
Great Maple’s floor to ceiling windows provide lots of sunlight and a view of Genesee Ave.
Fancy bar
It is very fancy inside and the outside seating has an excellent view of the trolley construction.
I ordered the fried chicken and donuts. Fried chicken was 2 pieces of boneless chicken thigh. Batter was crunchy and had a little bit more spice than KFC Original Recipe. Chicken was tender and juicy. I liked the flavors but I prefer the bone be left on the chicken as the flavor is different. Maple glazed donut was a bit denser than what you would get at Winchell’s but not as dense as Donut Bar. I enjoyed the sweet maple flavor with the savory bacon flavor.
Happy Hour $10 steakhouse burger cooked medium. Beef had a nice char, was juicy, and full of beefy flavor. Pecan wood smoked bacon was thick crunchy and had a delicious smoky flavor. With fries or onion rings this would make a big dinner size meal.

Service was very good here. Love the steakhouse burger but I don’t know if I’ll get the fried chicken again though as you can get alot of fried chicken at KFC for $16.
I like to take photos of beautiful things like rain falling into puddles. Photos were mostly taken on a Fuji XE-2. Starting 9.9.2016 most photos are taken on a Fuji XT-2. Subsequent photos were taken with an Iphone 13 Pro and an Iphone 15 Pro Max.
The fried chicken and donuts look amazing! Too bad the only view is of the trolley construction and street. The wall mural is pretty.
We should go so you can try it!
