Sprouts – Mira Mesa

Back in the day Mira Mesa Blvd ended a mile west of here and I use to ride my bike through uncharted wilderness.  It was fun exploring vernal pools in the middle of nowhere.  My bike got pretty dirty riding through the dirt and mud.  Sadly those days ended when they paved Mira Mesa Blvd to the interstate 805 and built houses and apartments around it.  Walking through this dirt lot ended when Mira Mesa Mall was built.  In the beginning Mervyn’s occupied this part of the mall and I’d get my Levi’s either here or at Miller’s Outpost.  Mervyn’s closed in 2008 and was replaced by Kohl’s in 2009.  Kohl’s then closed in 2016 to be replaced by Sprouts May 9 2018.

I’m impressed by how big this Sprouts is.  I usually go to the University City location which is much smaller.

The selection of Topo Chico was impressive.  I have only seen the Grapefruit flavor once and I rarely see the Lime flavor.  The UC Sprouts doesn’t usually have Topo Chico.
My fav flavor.
Selection of Alden’s Organic ice cream is excellent.  All the flavors I’ve seen in town are here.  The selection of items is impressive.  If you want something Sprouts carries you are likely to find it here.
This store is very shiny, clean, and staffed with nice employees.  I’m likely to shop here more than the other stores that have occupied this spot of ground.

I like to take photos of beautiful things like rain falling into puddles. Photos were mostly taken on a Fuji XE-2. Starting 9.9.2016 most photos are taken on a Fuji XT-2. Subsequent photos were taken with an Iphone 13 Pro and an Iphone 15 Pro Max.

  1. Soo! My sis and I wanted to come here for their grand opening as they were giving away free tote bags or something. Thanks for this post as we haven’t had a chance to visit this location. I used to like the Kohls here. We weren’t sure where Sprouts took over so thanks for letting us know the location in this strip mall.

  2. You are welcome! It’s a great Sprouts! Best selection I’ve seen in town. I was told the line for free stuff was huge.
