Back in the day Mira Mesa Blvd ended a mile west of here and I use to ride my bike through uncharted wilderness.  It was fun exploring vernal pools in the middle of nowhere.  My bike got pretty dirty riding through the dirt and mud.  Sadly those days ended when they paved Mira Mesa Blvd to the interstate 805 and built houses and apartments around it.  Walking through this dirt lot ended when Mira Mesa Mall was built.  In the beginning Mervyn’s occupied this part of the mall and I’d get my Levi’s either here or at Miller’s Outpost.  Mervyn’s closed in 2008 and was replaced by Kohl’s in 2009. …
