Fig Tree Cafe
Finally made it here for an early lunch. Been wanting to try this place out for some time now. The only drawback is limited seating space. So I’d recommend getting here early for breakfast as the line starts to form shortly after opening at 8:00 A.M. Parking is at a premium in this neighborhood so if you want a close spot you’ll probably have to pay for parking about a block away.

Mendocino Farms – La Jolla
I remember the blackness of night. Light bright as day streamed in the darkness. Inside Blockbuster it was so bright it hurt your eyes. Rows of dvd’s filled the place. I use to bring my kid here to pick out stuff for us to watch. I miss wandering the aisles and checking out all the movies to choose from. They knocked down the building. In it’s place is Mendocino Farms.

Johnny Rockets – UTC
UTC is a short walk to get a meal for me. UTC is an attractive dinner spot as traffic in this area is terrible at dinner time so I don’t like hopping in the car. I tend to alternate between Red Robin and Eureka Burger when I’m in the mood for a burger. I was interested when I noticed Johnny Rockets opened in the food court and they were advertising on groupon.

Bonnie Jean’s Soul Food Café
“And there was this toy, this snowstorm ball, with a tiny castle inside, except it was like a whole world, a world inside the ball… It was like a little glass bubble of somewhere else. I lifted it, starting a blizzard. I knew it wasn’t real snow, but I couldn’t understand how it fell so slowly. I figured inside the ball was some different sort of time. Slow time. …And inside there was only water.” Alan Moore – The Watchmen I started eating in this neighborhood about 20 years ago. Huffman’s Bbq was my favorite spot to get fried chicken. Sadly while the building looks much the same they sell…
