Mitchell’s Ice Cream

I remember my first visit to the city by the bay.  It was winter.  Cold fog rolled in from the sea every morning.  I had delicious ice cream for the first time.

Last time I visited Mitchell’s I could only eat a few scoops as I was not prepared to take ice cream home with me.  This time I brought a 50 quart Yeti like cooler with high performance ice packs.

There are so many flavors to choose from but I had to settle with buying 4 half gallons which were $10.99 each.  A bargain for fresh premium 16% butterfat scoop shop ice cream.  Flavors are so fresh and vivid it’s hard to eat grocery store ice cream with it’s muted flavors and ice crystals from improper storage.

It appears others agree with me as the parking lot was full and the line was about 35 minutes long.  It’s no wonder why they have been in business since 1953.

Lychee ice cream was cold, rich, and creamy.  Eating this ice cream was like eating fresh lychee in ice cream form.  Delicious.
Tropical 4 had a delicious mix of fruit flavors with the mango a bit stronger than the other flavors.  Very rich and creamy.
Vanilla was rich and creamy with delicious vanilla flavor.
Mango had rich creamy mango flavor.
My latest  road trip to San Francisco was like the first.  Cold fog rolled in from the sea every morning.  I had delicious ice cream.  🙂

  1. The mocha fudge and pumpkin ice cream tasted creamy and wonderful! Standing in line was worth it! We will have to go back again on our next trip!

    1. I’ll have to try some different flavors. I’m curious what the cherry vanilla taste like. 🙂

  2. I think you officially have an ice cream addiction. I think I see your daughter’s smiling face in the first pic? The tropical 4 sounds yums. I don’t know much about Airbnb so hopefully you’ll do a post about the one you had in SF.

    1. My name is Soo and I am addicted to ice cream. My daughter is in the 2 photos of the storefront. She doesn’t like her photo taken so I sneak them.

I do like the tropical 4 better than just straight mango as you get those delicious additional flavors.

I didn’t take enough photos to do a good post about the Airbnb. Like renting an apartment each one is different. This particular one was located on a busy street so it was just like staying at home.
