Guahan Grill – Rosecrans St.

Place has modern isle decor.

Cool relics from the past like the model outrigger canoe.

I tried the combo with lumpia.
Love the mix of flavors from the beef filling and the crunchy shell.  This is one of my fav lumpia with lots of nicely marinated beef.
Rice was moist and had a nice mild flavor.  Beef short rib was tender, juicy, and had a nice char.  I didn’t like what they marinated the beef in though.  Flavor was too acidic for me.  I prefer sweet kalbi sauce they use at Hawaiian places like Homestyle Hawaiian.
Guahan Grill is a nice looking place and our waitress was very nice.  Kirk from mmm-yoso!!! visited last year.

  1. Just love the model of the outrigger canoe and the intricate carvings on the five paddles. Really liked my food too. Looking forward to another visit with you.

    1. Yes they have some cool decorations!

  2. Pretty rendition of kelaguen here Soo! Thanks for the link.

    1. I’ll have to try the kelaguen next time. You are welcome!

  3. You are welcome Kirk! I’ll have to try the kelaguen.

  4. I think I’ve seen this place when I visited the area. Is it a sit down restaurant? I always thought it was fast-casual (pay with cashier, wait for order kinda thing).
I looked at the menu – was your galbi plate around $18??

    1. Yes I picked the most expensive dish. It would have been more cost effective to go to Zion and buy 2 lbs marinated beef short rib. I prefer the flavor of my beef short ribs as I cook it over charcoal.

It is a fast-casual place but it wasn’t busy so the cashier/waitress did check on us a few times.
