An’s Dry Cleaning

I remember peering at industrial cleaning machines sometime after my birth.  At the time my family ran a dry cleaning business.  It was bigger than An’s.

It wasn’t that fun growing up in the laundry as the dessert choices were poor.

Wish I grew up at An’s Dry Cleaning.

There are a bunch of tempting gelato flavors based on fabrics.

My fav flavor so far is Cotton.  Rich, creamy, with base that is vanilla like with hints of horchata.  This is my favorite horchata ice cream as I love how there is the hint of cinnamon without it being overpowering.
The Linen with pineapple and basil had a real smooth pineapple flavor which was my 2nd fav flavor.
The Gaberdine with banana and chocolate had a smooth banana flavor with a hint of chocolate which reminded me of eating a frozen banana.  Liked this one alot.
Plaid was chocolate, honey, cinnamon, and pepper.  Real rich chocolate flavor with sweetness and a little kick at the end.

All the gelato I tried had a rich + creamy super premium texture.  I look forward to returning and trying more flavors.
I love how the owners have respected the history of this place by keeping the former name and doing little things to keep the memory of the laundry alive like the ironing board tables and iron napkin holders.

  1. Everyone was so nice! I loved how David explained the complexities of each flavor and how he arrived at each one. Love their reason for keeping the name and being true to the theme.

    1. It was cool meeting the people behind the gelato. 🙂

  2. Oh gosh I thought this post was going to be about dry cleaning!

What a fun concept for an ice cream place. The menu looks small but strong. Would try them out if i’m in this area. Do they make their own waffle cones?

    1. They do make fresh waffle cones. Now that they are officially open there should be more flavors than during the preview. You should know I wear t-shirts all the time so I wouldn’t be going to the dry cleaners!

  3. my sis-in-law asked if i were going to their grand opening. i was like… why would i go to a laundromat when i have machines at home?! then i read your post to see if they still had laundry machines for use. i guess not. it’s a bit far for just desserts but i will take a peek if i’m ever in that area!

    1. Did your sis-in-law go? It was fun meeting an owner and trying out their gelato. 🙂 No laundry machines.
