Everybody Loves Ramen Elite Event @ Shibari Organic Ramen

Student of ramen eating: [voiceover] One fine day… I went out with an old man. He’s studied noodles for 40 years. He was showing me the right way to eat them.
Student of ramen eating: Master… soup first or noodles first?
Old gentleman: First, observe the whole bowl.
Student of ramen eating: Yes, sir.
Old gentleman: Appreciate its gestalt. Savor the aromas. Jewels of fat glittering on the surface. Shinachiku roots shining. Seaweed slowly sinking. Spring onions floating. Concentrate on the three pork slices. They play the key role, but stay modestly hidden. First caress the surface with the chopstick tips.
Tampopo

Yelp swag.

I use to start my mornings with a package of Sapporo Ichiban ramen, some veggies, and Chinese sausage.  They had different flavor packets so I wouldn’t get tired of eating the same thing.  Original flavor was my favorite.

Noodles cooking in the big pots.

I was excited to see Yelp was holding an event at Shibari Organic Ramen.  After watching Tampopo I imagined myself going to noodle houses and experiencing ramen like the trucker going from town to town.

Various broths.

Arriving promptly at 7pm I noticed Shibari closed while my old friend Sandra and the new CM Danny W. decorating the place in Yelp fashion.  Staff quickly took my order of Shio ramen and I watched the magic of the ramen being cooked behind the counter.

Shio ramen with chicken, pork, and duck.

Waitress brought out my lovely bowl steaming hot.  Broth was like an assari shio style on the clear and thin side.  I loved the flavor from the sea salt and other seasonings. Noodles had a fresh flavor you can never get from store bought ramen.  Texture was smooth and soft which contrasted nicely with the crunchy bean sprouts.  For proteins I went all out and had chicken, duck, and pork.  Each meat was well seasoned and added a complimentary flavor.  Gamey flavor from the duck was my fav.

I loved how you can add any meat they have into your ramen.  Great bowl of ramen!
Watermelon drink
Everybody brought their own drink.

    1. Sounds interesting. ? I’ll have to watch it now.

      1. It was great!

  3. I used to eat the ramen packets raw (dry noodles seasoned with the packets) in college.

I’ve heard nice things about Shibari. That’s awesome you got all the proteins in your bowl!

    1. Yea, my daughter still likes to eat the ramen packets raw…

  4. I’m all about the meat Faye! 🙂 I think the ramen taste better if you mix in some broccoli, Costco chicken, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fancy sea salt. Once in awhile I splurge and add in roast duck. 🙂
